” …I think of something recent that I see as very important. I’ve sensed in the last five years or so that the scoffers are on the defensive… They’ve been rattled when I see them in the debates… there’s not this abrasive aggressiveness you used to see. It’s rather more like they feel they don’t know where they are and all their old arguments have run out…”

“What do I think happens when we die? I think we enter into another stage of existence or another state of consciousness that is so extraordinarily different from the reality we have here in the physical world that the language we have is not yet adequate to describe this other state of existence or consciousness. Based on what I have heard from thousands of people, we enter into a realm of joy, light, peace, and love in which we discover that the process of knowledge does not stop when we die. Instead, the process of learning and development goes on for eternity.” — Raymond Moody, from Paranormal: My Life in Pursuit of the Afterlife

Review Of Raymond Moody’s New Book: ‘Paranormal’

Feb 22

In his new book Paranormal: My Life in Pursuit of the Afterlife, co-written with Paul Perry, Moody gives us the background behind his investigations into NDE’s and other, even more esoteric phenomena. The book is briskly paced, engagingly written, and remarkably open. Perhaps the most surprising revelation is that for most of his life Moody has suffered from a serious thyroid condition that can cause severe mood swings, and that, during one period of intense depression when his thyroid had essentially shut down, he attempted suicide and had a brief, preliminary NDE (or at least the prologue to an NDE) of his own…

Book: Glimpses of Eternity by Raymond Moody

Oct 11

Raymond Moody, author of the multimillion copy best-seller, Life After Life, reveals new results from his lifelong investigation of what happens when we die. The startling pattern that Moody discovered is that at the time of death, loved ones also have inexplicable experiences. Glimpses of Eternity is the first book to talk about the phenomenon of ‘shared death experiences.’ Readers will discover deathbed moments when entire families see the light or the room changes shape. Others tell of seeing a film like review of a loved one’s life and learning things that they could never have known otherwise. The stories are at once a comfort and a mystery, giving us a new understanding of the journey that we will take at the end of our lives…

Near-Death Experiences: Heavenly Stories Are Popular, Except In Church

Jun 12

This article examines many of today’s most well-known near-death experiencers, authors, and researchers, including Dr. Eben Alexander, Raymond Moody, Dr. George Ritchie, Reverend John Price, and Colton Burpo. One of the core points it makes is this: Many pastors don’t want to touch the subject because it’s too dangerous. Rob Bell, one of the nation’s most popular evangelical pastors, ignited a firestorm two years ago when he challenged the teaching that only Christians go to heaven. The book angered many members of Bell’s church as well as many in the evangelical establishment. He subsequently resigned…

Dannion Brinkley With Lisa Harrison

Dannion Brinkley With Lisa Harrison

Jun 22

Born in 1950, Dannion Brinkley is the author of three international best selling books — Saved by the Light, At Peace in the Light, and Secrets of the Light. He is also a internationally known speaker who has appeared on hundreds of television and radio shows. In 1994 his New York Times bestseller, Saved by the Light, was the highest rated made-for-television movie of all time by the Fox Network. In 1997, Dannion co-founded The Twilight Brigade in Los Angeles with a small but dedicated team of experience hospice volunteers and trainers. Since then, more than 5,300 have taken the volunteer training. Brinkley is also controversial. Brinkley told his story to near-death researcher Raymond Moody shortly after it occurred, but details of his account have been questioned by his doctor and various journalists. For example, although Moody said one of Brinkley’s afterlife visions of the future later came true, many other forecasts proved inaccurate. Brinkley’s claim that he served as a CIA sniper during the Vietnam War was challenged by writers who checked his military record…

Book Review: Glimpses of Eternity

Book Review: Glimpses of Eternity

Oct 15

I recently finished Raymond Moody’s new book, Glimpses of Eternity: Sharing a Loved One’s Passage from This Life to the Next. I had looked forward to reading this ever since reading and watching some of the advance material. Just as Moody brought near-death experiences (NDEs) to public awareness 35 years ago, he now said he would bring a new and extremely important phenomenon into view, one that puts to rest the skeptical objections to the NDE. He calls these shared death experiences. They are where a person (sometimes several people) seems to actually share in the crossing over of a loved one. People began sharing their personal stories of these with him even before he published Life After Life. And as time went on, he became even more interested in these shared death experiences than in near-death experiences. Over time he has asked audiences all over the world if they have had such shared death experiences, and he implies he has collected quite a number…
